Hey everyone! Welcome to week 3 of the Happy Flower Quiltalong!
We are in the midst of selling our home and house hunting, so I’m going to keep this brief (many of these may be brief as we settle in!)
I loved both of these blocks..
The template block is made up of simple flying geese. I have a template that I’ve used for years from Deb Tucker, and it helps to make perfect flying geese. I love how precise my geese points are. I used some tiny florals from Atsuko Matsuyama’s 30’s Collection with Yuwa for this block and I need to get more! I only had a FQ of each print to start with!
This strawberry block was one of the first that I did while I was still learning how to needle turn. I needed the practice with the points of the leaves, and that’s why they look so much more chunky than they should. Its a learning process like anything else. I’m going to be doing a blog post soon about needle turn applique, and why you shouldn’t fear it. In the meantime, here’s my block!
If you’ve been on the fence about joining in, you can jump in whenever you want! You just need the book – check Sunny Day, Sew Stitching Happy, or even Amazon. If its sold it, its continually being replenished, so try again a day or two later.
See you all soon!
